Mallee Threatened Birds Project
October 2024 to 30th June 2028

The Malleefowl is listed under the Environment and Protection Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act 1999 as vulnerable and is a member species of the Mallee Birds Ecological Community listed as endangered under the EPBC. Once more extensive in Victoria, Malleefowl are now largely confined to restricted areas of suitable habitat in the north-west of the state (Allen and Sluiter, 2014) and face a range of threats.

Mallee Mates Working Dog School II will address farmers feeling anxious, stressed, lonely and isolated during drought conditions.
